A Faery Scrap Tale

i got something done today!!! I finished my cj entry for the newbie cj team i’m in! Entry number 3 and so far, i don’t think i’ve done too badly I’m not entirely sure about the next one but as it falls over Christmas, i get a whole extra week to worry about it!  I remembered to take photos this team so i’ll pop one on here tomorrow – the person who’s cj it is doesn’t read my blog (or at least i don’t think she does) I quite enjoyed it and even used a couple of my new Paper Salon Stamps on it

No progress anywhere else though   Hopefully the Christmas decorations are going up over the weekend – i’m looking forward to that as i never really feel in the Christmas spirit until the decs are up! The rest of my Christmas shopping is being done on Monday/Tuesday which should save any last minute trips out in a state of panic! And i think i know what my baby sister has bought me for Christmas – let’s just say it’s new, it’s pink and do the initials AMM mean anything????

Yep, that’s right – too tired part 2! I just haven’t got the energy to do anything. I’ve spent the whole day faffing about with a cj entry and the cover for Shimelle’s Christmas journal and got neither of them finished   On the plus side i did order the new Basic Grey Blush paper collection pack & Blush Mini Monograms with a little bit of help from Sam at Scrapfairies. She’s very kindly agreed to pop a note in with my order saying i won in a competition

I’m hoping tomorrow will be a better day and you never know, i might even have something crafty to show you!

Well, the day started with a bang, or rather, with a downpour! When i got up at 8am, it was pouring down with rain so doctors appointment had to be cancelled. Strangely enough as soon as i’d done that, the skies cleared into a gorgeous blue rather than black and not a single drop more rain fell! And that meant the postman was in a good mood when he delivered my Basic Grey Fruitcake Ornament kit i ordered a couple of months ago.

Went into town to do Christmas shopping, that didn’t exactly go the way i planned either I had a lovely lunch courtesy of Grandad (Goats cheese & onion tart with green beans and baby new potatoes – very yummy!) then accidentally fell into the stamp shop and bought some new UM stamps, found & bought some gorgeous new Christmas decorations and finished up in Duttons so i could pick up some velvet ribbon i’ve been after. Duttons didn’t have all the colours i wanted so i need to track down a source for charcoal, an icy blue and very pale pink velvet. What a hardship!!! More shopping!!!! No Christmas shopping done at all but hey ho, there’s still another 18 days left so i’m sure we’ll get everything done.

Came home and did a bit of internet shopping – i’m in a button swap and the January Birthday swap over on UKS – so sorted both those out, means i don’t have to worry about either of them in the run up to Christmas! Dragged out all my supplies to do my cj entry & make a start on Shimelle’s class but didn’t get far with either. I need to print some stuff out for both but as my printer is currently kaput, i’ll have to nip up to the library tomorrow afternoon to do it. Am also hoping the Paper Salon stamps i purchased will arrive tomorrow as i really want to use them in my journal. Got Occupational Therapy coming in the morning for a 12 month follow up assessment so will need to be up early again. Time for bed methinks

I am stash-less no longer – the much lamented parcel arrived this morning I’m now the proud owner of 2 blank journals, Crate ‘Avenue’ papers, cardstock and another sheet of EZ Mount for my UM stamps. Should really have ordered 2 sheets of the EZ stuff as i’ve run out again already but it’ll have to wait now ’til after Christmas. I abhor ordering things at this time of year as everything seems to take twice as long or goes missing. It’ll give me the oppurtunity though to save a wee bit of money for the sales and a bit will be going in the fund for the Papercrafts show in Harrogate in March I have to go to this show as i have a free ticket now – it would be a shame not use it

I didn’t get anything done today – dh had an unscheduled day off work so all my plans went to pot. I’m going out tomorrow though, doctors appointment in the morning, followed by lunch in town, then Christmas shopping. I’m hoping inspiration will have struck by then as i have absolutely no idea what to buy dh!

Off to sort through my stash and get all the bits ready for finally starting the Shimelle Christmas journal class. I’ll do my level best to catch up and hopefully pics will be appearing by about Thursday

As there’s no post on Sunday, i’m still without my stash for Shimelle’s Christmas class   I’ve spent ages though looking at the amazing work everyone else is doing. I’m going to have to pull my socks up a lot to create anything that looks half as good!

Spent the afternoon making a few more Christmas cards – i now have the grand total of 7 made! I finally cut into my meagre supply of the Blonde Moments ‘Festive Feast’ papers, they are so gorgeous it was almost a crime to do so. Luckily i know i have more on the way as this months Scrapagogo kit is full of Blonde Moments goodies Tomorrow we find out when the kits are being despatched, as it’s December it seems we are getting them a little earlier than usual! I can’t wait to see that particular yellow box of happiness appear

I’ve still had no luck tracking down the Queen & Co Winter papers i wated to use for the Christmas journal so i’m going with a mixture of papers, Winter Wonderland (which i got through Craftwork Cards), some gorgeous blue Winter style papers that i can’t remember the name of from Capture the Magic, Blonde Moments ‘Festive Feast’ and the Fruitcake papers from Basic Grey. This journal is going to be very eclectic i feel but that suits my style rather than it being the same all the way through. I’m trying to think of something i can use on each page as a kind of ‘date stamp’ – possibly some adorable tiny chipboard Christmas trees i’ve acquired frome somewhere!!!!

Well, it’s nearly midnight so i’m off to bed – i want to be up early in the morning so i can get into town and do a wee bit of Christmas shopping

No stash came yesterday, no stash came today   The Christmas class is on prompt #2 with #3 tomorrow – if my stash comes on Monday i’ve got 4 days to catch on, plus making/decorating the covers.

I’ve wasted away the day here, faffing about on the computer and continuing with my re-read of all the Raymond E Feist books. I was good and made another 4 cards, only about another dozen that i want to make. Everyone else is getting store bought cards otherwise they’ll be waiting ’til next Christmas for handmade ones.

I was meant to be getting some money yesterday to buy a die cutting machine but as usual, the source of said promised money let me down. I’d found a really good deal too, which i think ends tomorrow – needless to say i’m a little bit narked.

Going to try and finish off my book, then to bed for an earlyish night – by earlyish, i mean before midnight! Fingers crossed for a huge stash delivery on Monday, i want my new Crate ‘Avenue’ paper

And how many presents have i bought? One. How many cards have i made? Yep, one! I really need to get a wriggle on but i’m suffering from a slight case of “can’t be bothered” After all the excitement of the cc last weekend i should be raring to go but i’m not

My journals and winter/christmas stash still haven’t arrived so i can’t make a start on the Shimelle class either. The first prompt is up and looks great, apparently there’s a wee extra bit to come today as well. If the little red post van doesn’t come today, i’m going to have to wait until after the weekend as they don’t seem to come round here on a Saturday.

I was going to go into town today to buy some new ribbon – i saw some gorgeous velvet ribbons in the exact colors i want for a project but it’s too cold out for me, and i really can’t be doing with the bus either. I’m sure they’ll still be there on Monday and i might even do a bit of Christmas shopping!
